crohns and headaches

i just wondered, does anyone suffer headaches/migraines and suspect this may be connected to their crohns disease? i know many of the medications can cause headaches so it may be a difficult question to answer specifically, but i have suffered increasing headaches and really nasty migraines in conjuction with my crohns recurring and flaring, without being on any meds.

maybe i'm just prone to them for another reason, maybe it is related to the crohns. anyone else have this painful problem?

I've been getting headaches since I had my surgery a few months ago. It turns out I am anemic, which can cause headaches. Essentially, you brain isn't getting enough oxygen, which causes pain. I would get your iron and b12 levels checked.

aha, maybe you hit the nail on the head there, i was told only last week i am anemic, and am awaiting blood test results from the hospital. i do get my B12 shots every 3 months, but i suppose this could be depleted too, right now. thanks greg.

I suffer from really bad migraines.. I have had my iron level and B12 checked, everything is fine.. Don't know if its related to crohns, but i have my suspicions...

I used to have migraines just about every day.I would take a pill called Imitrex.This did the trick until my body got used to it. Now I am getting marcraine (sp) injections Have not had a migraine in about 6 wks. now

it does seem there's a few of us then. i've always had the occasional migraine, but recently i'm almost constantly headachey, & every couple of days its going into a full migraine i've just been putting up with it, and taking migraleve & nurofen, but i think its time i asked for some help. will be seeing my gp next week - hopefully he will suggest something. interesting tho, how many of us crohnies also get migraines...

I feel for you dinbat, I hate headaches. Had the mother of them all 2 nights ago, normally pain meds would have killed it but, this one went on and on. Fortuanately I don't get them often.

I have started to get headaches but they appear every morning and last for a few hours then clear. Take B12 and B3 lost 27lbs. Was not big to begin with. Perhaps weight would also be a factor
