Hi all! My husband has crohns and I try to think of the slightest things that change in his life that may be linked to the flare ups and I think we are on to something with the hormones... specifically testosterone! Women produce low levels of testosterone! ...I have noticed that my husband doesn't have issues with the cd after intercourse... he is fine for a couple of days... I think if he doesn't have intercourse the testosterone levels go down because no new sperm is needed to be produced... this all is tmi I know but as newlyweds do we did things more frequently and he never had flare ups... now we don't do as much there seems to be more issues with cd... kev said in the winter time testosterone is produced less... makes since my husband has most of his probs in the winter... I have no clue if estrogen over powers the testosterone during that time but it'd make since as to why all you women have probs with it... also did you notice that most people start having probs with cd for the first time in their mid 20s... and usually that's when the sex drive seems to go down a lot compared to a teen... a teenage boy produces tons of testosterone... I know there are kids out there diagnosed with cd but there might be a link to cd and low testosterone!

Testosterone is an anti-inflammatory. The function med doc I was seeing a year ago was convinced that shots of testosterone would reduce my inflammation. Did nothing but give me zits and facial hair.

But there is a link. It's worth researching. Or just having more sex!

I wish this were true - but it certainly can't hurt! I'm gonna tell my wife right now I have a new prescription!!!

There are so many flaws in your "hypothesis" I don't even know where to begin. I know many people who take an exogenous source of testosterone (5-10 times) and it's effects on CD are negligible. However if it works for you by all means feel free.

Sperm is constantly being produced, sex is not the instigator for production. It's not sperm increase testosterone, it's the testosterone increasing sperm production.

If anything it would be CD causing low testosterone, not the opposite way around.
