Greetings Friends and Fellow Patients,
I hope this finds you all well. In December of 2005, I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease while living in the state of Kentucky. I can't say that it came as a huge surprise due to digestive difficulties over a couple of years. Doing my best to take it in stride, I set out learning as much as I possibly could about the disease and the best course of action for managing it. Unfortunately, I ran the gamut of drugs only to end up with a bowel re-section in March of 2009; however, I used that experience as motivation to find an even better way to take control of the disease and vowed to never go back on medication or under the knife. With the help of my friend, Sean Croxton, at UndergroundWellness, I took a more holistic approach to my health through changes in diet and lifestyle that have made me so much better and put me in control of the disease. I am happy to say that I have been medication-free since surgery and just ran my first half-marathon ever last month as part of Team Challenge!
