I've had Crohn's for over thirty years, I am a 53 year old male. I think I have been on all available treatments with little relief. I am currently on Cimzia, Entocort, Lialda and Prilosec. I have been on Cimzia for over two years and give myself shots twice a month. I have experienced alot of crazy symptoms lately, from unexplained rashes to high blood pressure. I am getting an iron IV treatment every three weeks at the hospital. I have had 3 small bowel ressections and could be facing short gut syndrom with the next surgery. I am currently on disability because of complications (infections)from my last surgery. I just wanted to share my story, and help anybody that might benefit from it

HI Perrybe :bigwave: Glad you found us. I too have had 2 resections and been on every med known to the Canadian market. Nothing works. Some of us get rashes I use Aveeno anti itch and soothes it naturally. If that does'nt work you maybe have to get some cortizone cream, usually that helps. As for the high blood pressure, can't help you there, I have textbook bp... could be from the Cimzia, I dont know. I would not let it go thought, see your doctor for that, not good for that to happen.

Hope you join us and help others too. :welcome:

Hi Perry! I am sorry that no treatment seems to work. Is there a date set for your next surgery? I sure hope you'll get some releif afterwards and for a long while.

Thanks for sharing.

Hi Perry and welcome :) I'm glad you joined.

With that much surgery, I have to wonder if your rashes and high blood pressure are due to vitamin and mineral deficiencies. We've been working on a vitamin and mineral deficiency database for people with IBD and though it's not done yet, I'd suggest giving it a read.

I wish you all the best and hope you continue to contribute to our community. We're here for you anytime :)
