I'm new to this forum, am 65 years old and was just diagnosed. Just curious if there are others out there in wheelchairs and how they handle going out, etc. on Entocort and so far not working - but it has only been a few days.

Welcome to the forum Tootsie!

Can I ask why you use a wheel chair - is it because you have problems walking/standing or are generally lacking the energy to walk/stand?

I used a wheel chair for a short time just before being diagnosed. I was 13 at the time, so my parents used to push me around. I was too weak and anemic to push myself, and too weak and anemic to walk very far at all. I really was on deaths door at the time, I was in a really bad way. Since then I have managed to get by ok without a wheel chair. There are times when I find it really hard to walk, due to abdominal pains and general weakness, but usually I just push through it and try my best. I found it tough being in a wheel chair, I found strangers would come up to me and start talking to me, and being quite a shy teenager I didn't like the attention much.

Do you use a wheel chair all the time, or are you able to get up and walk about too? I used to find it funny when my parents would park my wheel chair outside a shop and I'd get up and start walking, much to peoples surprise :)
