I was diagnosed in 1993 andvhad tried every medication available without success. I am currently on 30 mg of hydrocortisone due to severe adrenal insufficiencty. I had a resection done inn 2007 which I had 18 inches of small intestine taken out. Myy crohns has come back and myy two options are tysabri or surgery. I elected tysabri and I am very scared to start this medication due to the side effects. My adrenal insufficiency makes me so tired some days I can't even get out of bed.

Any suggestions

HI Mark and welcome! I too was asked by my Gi if I wanted to push for Tysabri and I said no. I would sooner have more surgery. So you have been on all the biologics? Cimzia too? Methotrexate? I too was diagnosed in 1993 but syptoms since I was 15 years old. What country are you from? Hope someone in your country can help you better, sorry I am not much help. Glad you are onboard here!

I am in the us and yes I have been on all TNF including cimzia with no luck. I was hesitant on tysabri but did not think that I was ready for another surgery. I have been to mayo clinic and now wash. Univ. And both gave me the same advice. My adrenal insufficiency from long term steroids is causing me a lot of problems.
Thanks for the reply
