Here is the reason for my question...
I began having upper right abdominal pain and diarrhea in 2012. After many tests I ended up having a colonoscopy in 2013 that showed accute inflammation and ulceration in my terminal ilieum. I began taking Pentasa and after a few months my symptoms died down and I felt mostly back to normal and I quit taking the Pentasa. 6 months later the symptoms returned with a lot of pain, diarrhea, and fatigue. I started the Pentasa again with little improvement. I ran out of the medicine at one point before I could get back to the Dr. and after several weeks without Pentasa, I was miserable. I resumed the medicine with some relief. Symptoms persisted and soon my Dr. doubled my dose of medicine, which only gave me a little improvement. My Dr. decided to do another Colonoscopy and the results were, normal! No ulcers in my ilieum and no inflammation. The Dr. Suspects the medicine has helped my problem and wants me to continue the medicine, but also have a small bowel follow through to see if Crohn's is active in my small intestines. I had that test last year and it was normal. I'm just confused, the location of my pain has not changed, it's always been, upper right. Sorry for the long winded post - any thoughts or feedback would be greatly appreciated!
