My only symptoms leading up to my recent diagnosis (and bowel perforation) were a terrible cramp once or twice a day and heartburn which was referred rib & back pain.
My GI wants to do an endoscopy after learning this to see if there is Crohn's involvement in my stomach. Has anyone dealt with that? I hope it's just a "keep taking Prevacid, stomach's fine" thing and that the Crohn's can keep itself in my guts!

I'm going to tag littlemissh here as I believe she has gastric Crohn's. She pops in the forum every now and then so hopefully she'll see this. I seem to recall reading that Crohn's in the stomach is pretty rare, so hopefully you don't have it. For what it's worth, I have severe GERD (chronic acid reflux) which can in turn cause recurrent bouts of gastritis, which is when the lining of the stomach gets irritated and inflamed. Gastritis can be horribly painful, but it's not actual Crohn's in the stomach and it can be brought under control. So hopefully you have something like that which is easily controlled and not too serious, as opposed to gastric Crohn's. Has Prevacid been doing anything for you? Have you tried other reflux meds?

Hi Nancy,
I have crohn's in the stomach and duodenum. It is not common and most are ok with ppi's and regular maintenance meds.
I required Humira and 80mg omeprazole to settle my GD crohn's down.
My symptoms were nausea and vomiting and pain as soon as I ate anything and also in the early hours of the morning.

On occasions (including now :-( ) I have to have a nasojejunal tube for feeding as I cannot eat. This is not common however so don't panic!
I hope your scope gives you some information

Thank you littlemissh ! I definitely don't have severe symptoms like that. I hope you're off the tube soon!

When I first was diagnosed I had inflammation and ulcers in my stomach. I take a pill to decrease the amount of stomach acid, but otherwise, it's under control with the meds I'm taking for the rest of my organ involvement. I don't remember my endoscopy since I had it with my colonoscopy and was asleep, but I had no pain or anything afterward....I just remember them telling me to swallow

I have/had gastric Crohn's and take Prilosec. Doc also gave me Dicyclomine for esophageal spasms, but it didn't work. Only thing that worked? Remicade.
