I posted a while back that I was in a 2 year remission. However it seems like my Crohn's Disease is flaring up again. This is a very minor flare though. So I am going to describe it.

I started in February. I started having diarrheas once every 2 weeks. It slowly became more frequent. Now I am have diarrheas for a week and it stops - I will have firm stool for about 2-4 days and then the diarrhea returns. Also I have very minor abdominal cramps/ pain that last about 5 seconds - this happens only once or twice a day.

I am not currently taking any medication, but I am taking supplements.
Vit D3 - 5000mg
Apple pectin - 500 mg
Vit b complex
Folic Acid
Alpha Lipoic acid
Niacin
Calcium
Multi Vit.

I am also taking aloe juice, which seems to help, however, I still have abdominal pain once or twice every day. I have had firm stool for 4 days, but I am really afraid that my Crohn's will not go back to remission and become full blown. I am just really afraid of the pain that will come back.

Does anyone have any advice on how to stop the minor flare up?

Hi. Sorry to hear you're flaring.

Id suggest giving the GI a call. Don't let the inflammation keep going.

I would not recommend aloe Vera for crohns. Ive read It can be helpful in UC but can be a problem in crohns.

Hope you start feeling better soon.

when i feel a flare up i consume clear liquids and that has helped. If not get to GI may need steroids for inflammation. Stay hydrated.

I would get an appointment with your GI.

There are only a limited number of nerve cells in the digestive tract, so the fact you have pain is an indication that the damage has already started.

This might feel mild right now but crohns doesn't fix itself and if you leave it now it will probably come back to bite you. Treat it before it gets any further, leaving it untreated makes you vulnerable to all sorts of complications and increases the amount of scarring that could be left behind, potentially needing surgery. Please don't ignore it.

The fact you are experiencing gastric pain means it's not a "little" flare, in fact, I would go so far as to say there is no such thing as a "little" flare. As valleyangel mentioned the way the gastric tract works means by the time you're experiencing pain it's suffering serious damage. You need to contact your GI and work them instead of asking us what to do. The goodwill of strangers is not a substitute for a bottle of prednisone. Why aren't you on a maintenance medication? Waiting until your body hurts to treat your CD is going lead to serious damage to your colon and terminal ileum and cause more complications.

I'm going to second the suggestion to call the GI and then take my own advice since I haven't established care since moving a month ago :)
In my opinion, there's no harm in getting support here as well. That's why this place exists.
