I belive in the MAP theory eventhough it may be not the only reason for IBD. Last summer the biopsies of my son showed some sort of mycobacterium in his gut, but the laboratory was not able to culture it (currently there is no an efficient way to culture it). My son also benefited from the "anti-MAP" treatment based on different antibiotics.
Prof. Hermon-Taylor has already developed a test to identify MAP in the gut and the vaccine is also there. What is still missing are the clinical trials on humans and that's why more funding is needed.
