Hi
Why u jumped immediately that u might have chron’s. Did any doctor say that? It is difficult to predict without knowing the ct or mri and the blood test.i realy don't know what miralax is for.?
I wish u all the best .

yes it might be.this was the same with me 9years ago,and they did'nt know that it was chron's.still u need th c t or m r i.goog luck.

Hi aa24.. ER treatment is Ok for emergency situations, but the followup required for a longterm situation like IBD will likely mean finding a GI specialist, and being tested.
that's the only process I know of that will provide a definitive answer to the question you asked. Not only will it answer your question, it should give you the best method to deal with the situation. All anyone here could do is give you their best 'guess', OK

ok thanks, im going down to the university of miami to a pedictic gi (im 15) my reegular gi said to go to him

If you want Crohn's you can trade with others here. I myself am praying with all my heart I don't have it. Crohn's is not a fun disorder to have. It is a serious disorder that is life altering and there is no cure. I believe that no one here prays anyone gets diagnosed with it.

My doctor really thinks it is Crohn's but even if the test I have says it, I am going to ask for a second opinion. This is way too big of a diagnosis to just accept without a second opinion.

Alot of things can cause your symptoms especially if they just started happening. Mine have been increasing in intensity for close to 7 years.

I'm praying you don't have Crohn's and I'm praying I don't either.

yes we all pray that isn't cron's for u and for us and for any new patients.but with crohn's without it u have to continue to study.plz dont let crohn's stop u to acheive yr goal.

Yeah, keep your fingers crossed if the diagnosis comes back as IBS vs IBD. Neither is a cakewalk, but my totally uneducated take on it is that Inflammatory Bowel disease is a chronic, long term incurable disease with progressive symptomology. whereas with Irritable Bowel Syndrome, although the syndrome may remain with you, there is typically little progression, nor drastic long term accumulated damage. Keep in mind that this is just a laymans view, and that I could be totally mistaken. I garnered what little info I have on these separate issues when I noticed an IBS study poster at my GI clinic last year, and asked a nurse practioner about it. so my info is pretty anecdotal, and it is based on my memory... Neither is all that reliable. As far as symptomology, its my best recollection that these two can mimic each other, one of the reasons that a definitive diagnosis of IBD is typically hard to determine. One potential con of an IBS diagnosis is that, since it isn't considered as bad as an IBD one, it probably merits less study, and possibly fewer support groups like this (maybe)

Think if given a choice, most members here would gladly swap their IBD dx for a IBS one (but that's just my gut talking, and it isn't too reliable latley either) OK?

i ahve had crohns for just over 10 years and had a ilestomy pouch for 4 yrs. it was the best thing that ever happen to me. i got my HGV (lorry, truck) licence and got my life back to some kind of normal. and the most important thing that happen? well that was being able to be a proper wife and mother again. regards sahron x
