Crohn's

I recently had a opeation for crohn's, I had a illecolectomy(resection of end of small intestine and beginning of colon.I am feeling pretty good except for the cramping and pain in my stomach mostly ever day since my surgery, Has any one had this craming and pain from their surgery and if so what was it, or did you get rid of it. Help

1. How long ago was the surgery?
2. Is the pain specifically in your stomach area, the surgery area, or some other area of your intestines?
3. Are you on any medications?
4. Have you talked to your doctor about the pain and if so, what did they say?

Hi, David I recently had my operation on Oct. 4th 2012. my pain is in the stomach and sometimes above my navel.I take Asacol twice a day 3 pills each time. Talked to GI DR. said it might be a ulcer, I am having a endoscopy tomorrow. I did talk to my surgeon last week, he said it might take a little longer to heal, he said I see you in two weeks if its not better we will have to do more tests. Thanks, scuba

I had my surgery Oct 4th, 2012.I am taking asacol twice daily, 3 in the morning and 3 at night. I get some diarrhea and some times its hard to go.Scuba

After the op were you ever given anything to soften you stool (Milpar for example) so it didn't strain the join? Were you advised on any foods to eat for a few days/weeks after? I do remember going back to work 6 weeks after my op and developed a cough and the pain in my tummy really made me think that I had ripped something open inside, I went to see my GP and they confirmed I had pulled still healing muscles as these will take time to heal fully. I hope the scope tomorrow goes ok for you, please keep us updated on how you get on.

I had my endoscopy last wednesday, the results according to GI Dr. was gastritis With redness in the stomach, he put me on omeprazole 20 mg 1 a day, this is generic for prilosec. I still get some of the pain, not as bad but still there. I would like to see a pain free day.
