Hi All

Just curious what everyone's CRP levels have measured at when you are in a flare and what your disease level is classified as....

I have been classified as Mild to Moderate - although who knows now with this flare - and my CRP levels since the start
9/14 = 27
10/9 = 54
11/2 = 100 - they think this is as high as it is due to a cold at the same time

Thanks
Megan

Hiya,

When I flared for the first time in July and ended up in hospital my CRP was WAY over 100 (had infection as well) and apparantly my diseased bit is 'moderate'

CRP should be less than 5 to be normal as far as I understand.

Looks like yours is getting much worse and you may want to get onto that pretty smartly!

My Dr. checks mine every four weeks when I get my Remicade infusions. My last one was worse than the four weeks prior, and I will have another one next Tuesday.

I have no idea what the actual numbers are, just know that my doc said it was pretty bad last time.

I am - on Entocort and Cipro/Flagyl

I got curious about my levels...My lab does a quantitative CRP...The reference range for normal is 0.0-0.8

My latest CRP was 0.2
Last year before surgery, my CRP was 0.9

My doctor also does a Westergren SED rate to check for inflammation. The normal range is 0-20
My highest value was last year at 34??

CRP is C reactive protein. One of the markers for iacute inflammation. Normal is < 5 and anything over that indicates inflammation. They may do the results differently in different places though as i notice IMP has said hers was 0.2? No decimal point in my results!
There is also an ESR test which needs to be under 20 and this is for more long term inflammation as I understand it. My GI now only tests CRP as he says that is the most important indicator if I start to flare up.
