Hi,
I Had 70cm of bowel removed last August.
I developed abbesses and had to go for CT surgery.
Before the surgery an RN sedation specialist came to describe what he would do. I asked him if it was similar to colonoscopy sedation (no memory of procedure) he said it was. He inserted a pic line in my left hand and said it would take effect in 6 seconds. He then left the room. After a minute I was still fully awake as the surgeons started to do surgery (on my butt and left quadrant of my body).
I was awake for the whole painful procedure.
Basically after they started I decided to grin and bear it. After it was over another nurse came in I told her I was awake for the whole procedure. She seemed surprised.
Anyone else have a similar experience?
