Has anyone tried curcumin? It is an herbal supplement derived from turmeric? I have found that it makes a difference in reducing the impact of crohn's on my life... what are other people's experiences?

Yep. A number of reputable studies show tumeric and its derivative can be of some benefit.

I took curcumin caplets over a period of six months during a particularly bad flare (as well as incorporating other lifestyle changes).

There's a few people here who use it.

love curry but it makes me poo!

I guess the herbal market is changing. It used to be all about the Whole herb thing and not extracting an Active Ingredient through chemical process or synthesizing it.

I was using it too, I was recommended by a naturalpath.. not sure it did anything for me. But the headlines on it are coming back with a blast. Just wish the FDA would put pressure on "Natural supplements" to ensure we are getting what we want , the quality and quantity. Also its' uses and drug reactions. It was supposed to be done by now.... but when it comes to making money on products, it is a very slow process.

I'm using it as an after surgery natural maintenance program. Don't know if it's doing anything but hope it is keeping the inflammation at bay

For me it was good for maintainance, but not so good for an acute flare. When I go into remission again it will be part of my maintainance program.
