Maybe this is just wishful thinking or maybe I'm truely blonde but has anyone else tried one of these cures? If so, do they work? Am I just completely gullible for even thinking that it might be a possibility?

Thanks for your insights.

I was googling this morning and typed Cron's Cure and a dietary cure popped up on http://www.healingcrow.com/dietsmain/crohn/crohn.html

I try to be a realist so I'm pretty skeptical about it. I was just wondering if anyone has "investigated" these claims. I try to find something that may make this all go away.

My hubby believes that there's more than I could know about so I'm just keeping my options open. Besides, Remicade scares the carp out of me.

The suggestions in the link can help symptoms and some people here already use some of them. It is not accurate to call it a cure, but can be part of an effective treatment program. I do not see the word "cure" used on the site.

Hi
We are all wishing for a cure but I don't know how that will happen when they aren't positive about the exact cause of the disease. A great treatment with no side effects is the best case scenario. If you try something and it works for you please let us know. I think a lot of people are tired of "going down rabbit holes". I wish you the best. Check out some of the treatment threads here. There is a wealth of info from personal experience.

Well, seeing as how you eat fish and have urgency issues like me, the anti-inflammatory properties are a good start to healthy resilience against this disease. :)

I really get irritated by the usage of the word cure and how it is carelessly slung around, and I'd make a very voracious effort to avoid ANYTHING that came up in Google when I typed "Crohn's cure" in, they obviously misuse that word and are out for money, not my or your well-being.:)

The SCD Diet has worked well for me, and although I'm not cured, like D Bergy said, it helps with symptoms because I am probably more sensitive to high-carbohydrate foods. I have found probiotics to be VERY useful, and one of the best products I've ever bought is Kimchee. I make a salad of kimchee, avocado, sometimes some feta cheese or tomato, and lemon juice, and this makes me so energized. Definitely worth trying some of these foods, but I would do more research too (beyond the website you posted). For probiotics, by the way, I use the brand Nature's Way, because a friend of my dad is a doctor and he recommended the brand as a trustworthy one to me, and it has worked very well to make me feel more energy. The thing about the SCD diet and probiotics is they are designed to promote general health for people with a lot of different ailments. I saw something about the SCD diet being used to treat autism too, interestingly....

I also found this recipe book on amazon called the Anti-Inflammation Diet. I am a big amazon browser but not a big book buyer. I find most of my information on the internet, from a lot of different sources and try and compare what people have experienced. so if you google anti-inflammatory diet or anti-inflammatory foods and also specific carbohydrate diet you can find a lot that suppress inflammation in the body! (I just posted this in another thread, but in case you don't see it, I actually did buy a book called Beat Crohn's, that talks about enteral nutrition putting a large percentage of crohn's patients in remission. I'll share when I get it and I've tested it out!) Hopefully that helps a little.
