I'm not into sports and don't like going to the gym. My new thing to get my heart rate up and to break a sweat is to turn on some dance music and shake my body in my room. I'm glad nobody sees this because I seriously lack rhythm and moves but it's fun, feels upbeat and may be helping me get more fit?

Anyone else shake it for exercise?

I used to do dance aerobics in college but that was a class long ago. Its a great work out. I also used to dance randomly to music all by myself but it got a little boring and I didn't keep up with it.

Now I play the Wii Just Dance games (I own the 3rd one, the first one was terrible, haven't tried the 2nd or 4th one yet). I can easily do it by myself or I can play with my husband or family and compete for the higher score. I don't just stand there with the remote moving only, I do the full body movements. Those who can't jump around or move as much can still play but can reduce the movements to what they are able to do and still get a workout (my husband has a really bad back so can't move as much as me but he sweats a lot when we play).

Every time I went out to clubs I'd be extremely tired and sore the next day. :p Dancing is a great workout that can keep you fit without getting too boring. What I learned to keep it exciting is to do it with other people (same goes for every exercise for me though) and change the music because hearing the same songs over and over gets old.

I do this in my own kitchen, while waiting for water to boil, etc. It's good for us to MOVE. :)

Wii dance games are a good idea! I have seen it but don't really know much about it. Do you have to dance on a pad or you put some wires on your body? Can you choose what music you dance to?

No dance pad needed. Or wires. :p There's a sensor you put either on top or below your TV (depends on your set up) and it can see your movements. You hold onto the wiimote and the sensor picks it up. You can also have up to 4 players. Each game has a list of songs you can dance to. This is the one I have: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Just_Dance_3

Clearly I'm very behind on the technological times lol. This is cool though, albeit a bit creepy that it monitors your movements. I am going to look into buying this and driving everyone in my house nuts by claiming the only tv to dance.

Well it mainly follows the wiimote. The Kinect for the XBox watches your bodies movements the way you're thinking. Those games are fun too.
