So I have surgery scheduled for may 24, but I require a world leading experts opinion on what needs to be done surgically if anything at all. (Surgery is needed since a pediatric scope couldn't get through my terminal ileum, and cecum is deformed.) My local gi says I need. To loose 1/2 my colon. However the doctor I am netting with cant see my the same week as my surgery team consult, then two days later surgery. So I have to fly from south florida twice within 7 days of each trip. Do you guys think I'm crazy for flying to a appointment with a world leading expert on crohns? Since my local dr already recommended me for surgery? What I have planned is to ask if he thinks my acaending colon. (Or a portion) can be saved rather than resect the right and transversal colon. I have a 5cm stricture in transversal colon and a bad one as stated in terminal ileum.
Thoughts, opinions welcome.
Thanks in advance.
