Hi everyone

Two weeks ago I started taking 6mp (25mg). Since then my sore throats which I thought was gone prior to starting, returned and turned into a cold/flu which I still have. I also started 1g salofalk suppositories and was put back on entocort about 3 weeks ago. My period 3 weeks ago, resulted in me passing out from the pain, although this is not new for me, is rare. Around two weeks ago, I started getting sharp pains in my vagina which became more frequent. I also began to suffer burning pain when urniating. It turns out I had a slight uti and was given antibiotics. I was also given flucanzole for thrush. On advice of my IBD nurse I have stopped the 6mp for a while. Three days ago however I started to spot dark brown blood and still am today although it is a lighter brown (sorry for the detail). My periods have never been irregular, nor have I ever spotted or had this vaginal pain before. I am awaiting the results of a smear and some other swab tests, but I was wondering what the chances are this could be due to the 6mp? I have also developed a mucus cyst in my mouth, which I've also never had before. I feel so run down since starting this med and haven't been well since.

Hi, in thinking possibly (hopefully not!) A fistula...... When I had mine appear, I had very sharp, burning pain..... Almost unbearable...... Which lessened when the fistula/abscess opened up.....

Thanks for your response. A fistula had crossed my mind but I'm really hoping it isn't that. I think the uti antibiotics may have worked ok as I don't have the burning pain any more. I did still have stabbing pains though in my vagina last night.

I was reading up on the side effects of entocort and 6-mp and noticed that irregular periods was a common side effect for the entocort. I'm going to swap the entocort for budenofalk which I used to take (without resulting in this potential side effect) and see if that helps. The IBD pharmacist I spoke to however was of the mindset that both drugs would have the same side effects, however from my own research This may not be the case, as apparently the inactive ingredients are different? Would be interested to hear if anyone has any experience with entocort and this side effect...

Further to my previous post, I got my swabs and smear test results which thankfully were all normal, as a result my gp doesn't think it's a fistula. Still having the same symptoms though with stabbing pains and brown discharge. Tried to contact my IBD nurse who hasn't got back to me from last Monday and my gp asked for my consultant to call me, but I'm still waiting for that too....feeling anxious with these meds:sign0085:

Just an update; been on the 6mp for 2.5 months now. Still having abnormal vaginal bleeding, constant uti feeling/ frequent unrination. Still no response from my GI consultant and my IBD nurse still doesn't think the meds are causing my symptoms despite them starting around the same time as I started taking the drugs. My GP referred me to gynae and the nurse considered if I should be referred to a urologist. I'm so fed up with these symptoms. Anyone else have these symptoms?
