Hi spooky, welcome to the forum. Not common but not unheard of to be diagnosed later on in life. What kind of meds are you on and where is your crohns located and how severe. Glad you found us, lots of good info here!
There are a few members on the forum that were diagnosed at a later age. If you have questions or concerns or are just looking for information this forum is very helpful with that. There are a lot of friendly people here with a ton of knowledge!

Welcome to the forum. I was diagnosed when I was 32, but my doctors had suspected it from the time I was 19 years-old. I guess they didn't have enough to go on until later. I really started getting hit with the symptoms during my college years and 20s.
Hi Spooky
I'm 51 and am on Diagnosis Road at the moment but is looking increasingly like Crohn's. Just waiting to see my GP to discuss the results of a barium meal test I had this week. It kind of hit like a bolt from the blue about 6 months ago. I woke up with weird pain and tightness in my lower right quadrant and pelvic area, then vomitting and UTIs. When they wouldn't clear up with antibiotics, my GP sent me for an ultrasound which showed narrowing in my lower bowel. I get D with a few foods, especially cheese and sugary things so have omitted them, and caffeine and other foods make the pain increase and give me the symptoms of a UTI so I am working on identifying what they are to cut them out of my diet.
I'm glad you have found your way here. It has been an absolute godsend for me
Thank you everyone! You are all so kind! Well, it is my husband who was just diagnosed 9/22/10 at age 58. He never had any Crohns symptoms before. Sounds very unusual to me, I think we need to get a second opinion as we just heard from his specialist that he does not specialize in Crohns.
Spooky - How exactly was your husband diagnosed (based on what tests, etc.)? I definitely agree, you should get a 2nd opinion. Even for qualified Gi's, this can be a hard diagnosis to make in many cases. Do keep us updated & welcome to the forum!
