Hi
My wife has been on Humira for a few months.
For the past few weeks she has constant diarrhea. (More precisely, many almost liquid stools and occasionally - once a couple of days - a "reasonably good one")
May not be Humira related nut just Crohn related.

We have tried a few things that would normally work with diarrhea. Peppermint tea, lots of rice, a few teaspoons of metamucil - all these don't help much. When we tried Imodium it did more harm as she had terrible pain inside her (abdomen i think).
Any ideas of what may cause this and how to try to treat it?
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Could be from many factors, including a crohn's flare. For how many months she has been on humira? How are her inflammation markers?
As it's been many weeks and imodium caused terrible pain i'd not take many more risks and definitely call the doctor for further investigations.

Thank you for your quick reply.
My wife has been on Humira for about 3 months. She thinks it is a good treatment as Humira seems to have healed a fistula she had when she started the treatment. She is also using concurrently, once a day a cortifoam spray. She will have a blood test for inflammation markers on Wed.

Ok good it's healing the fistula... usually it may take more than 3 months for biologics like humira to fully kick in but doctors should know more than us what to do... increasing the doses (every week rather than every other week) could be an option based on blood tests and symptoms but it's maybe too soon. Hang on, I guess if tests will be done wednesday your doc may have a clear view on whats goin on soon to give you the best recommendations. Don't forget to tell the doctors all the symptoms she's been having.
Hope she'll feel better soon.
