Has anyone ever had to use a dilation machine. I don't quite know what it is. I was not aware of what was going on when my GI was telling me what he wanted me to do, luckily my parents where there. I learn how to use it on Monday. I'm just hoping it's not in the shape of a male body part. I'm don't swing that way, not that there is anything wrong with that.(Seinfeld reference and my bad attempt at humor in this thread).

Anyways, if anyone knows what it's like please let me know. I have to use it every day.

THanks

i've done some google image searchs, and whilst its not in the exact shape of a male body part (not one i've ever seen any ways), its probably going to be similar to it.

Yeah, I googled it also, same results. Sorry Jeff. Just another horrible part of this disease that some have to go through.

Whenever I have to use an enema, or get a colonscopy, I just think of myself as an animal or specimen.

or on a bright note, if your talking about time dilation machines (you never specified;)), i did find this for you

lol

I guess my next question is has anyone with a lot of scar tissue in there rectum used one of these devices and what was it like. If not then I guess I will be posting my experience starting Monday with how it works. Thanks everyone

huh i have never even heard of a dilation machine, and i couldnt find much about it on the web either.

so i have no idea about the machine aspect. but for me, rectal dilation involves a stainless steel rod (contoured in a way that i still cannot figure out, and slightly resembling a male body part-sorry), and some ky jelly.
machine? what?

Never mind I have active Crohn's which is causing my scar tissue to be pushed stricture in my sphincter muscles so that is where my problem is. I'm going to try and get treated and see how that works. If I didn't have active Crohn's I would be using a dilation method. Dilation machine/gizmo/something or another I didn't know the term. Maybe a dilation male body part :)

Jeff, just pretend you've been abducted and Mulder and Scully are hot on the case.

Best of luck, dont' think about it, honestly.

I have already had three dilations in the past six weeks. I don't care much about the dilation. I was just trying to figure out what devices are used and how to use them but now I'm not going to be dealing with dilation devices. I'm going to get at least one dilation over spring break but it may be a series of dilations to get maximum affect. Once my flare breaks I should be okay, I just have to wait for the flare to be done.

Thanks for all thte support guys

I think it could help when you have a blockage and it seems to be less traumatic than the classical surgery.
I am just wondering and that’s why I am looking for information about it.
