Hi Everyone i'm needing some advice, my main symptom which started my illness was constant dizziness, when i was at work i was unable to lift my head off the desk and had little concentration. I have been off work for a year now and the only time the dizziness has improved is 6 weeks post op it completely went then came back.

Its really hard to explain it can come at any time at the day, i could be standing, sitting or lying down, my head will either feel like the room is spining, feel off balance and have to hold on to something to move around, my head can feel really fuzzy or the feeling you get when you've had a few too many drinks tho i haven't drunk in 4 years.

My doctors or GI cant figure out what is causing it and have been told several times its not typically a symptom of crohns. I have taken every dizzy tablet you can imagine and nothing helps, i have seen an ear nose and throat specialist and got the all clear. Basically this is ruling my life as i can't do much and i'm scared to drive incase i have a dizzy spell and have an accident.

I'm not anemic tho was on iron tablets for 6 months, i get 3 monthly vitamin b12 injections. I was only diagnosed with crohns in march so i dont have much experience with my disease but i am still in a flare following my op.

Any help would be great :)

Hello Mac
Sorry to hear of all your problems and will commiserate with you.I have had simialr symptoms but a change of blood pressure medication has helped the near faints. I am still a bit unsteady and need a cane for saftey. I have had a bump on the head two yars ago, bumped into a cupboard door and got a subdural hematoma two months later and ended in hospital for two months and which left me with a balance problem that I thought had been resolved till recent events.
They did an MRI of the brain and thats ok. The neurologist said everthing was looking good in there!.
Have you recently within the last year banged your head, saw stars and did nothing about it? This was my undoing. They told me it can show up to two years later causing these symptoms similar to yours and mine..
If you have ever had a head injury, however much you may think it minor, talk to your doctor and see if they will do a brain scan, Catscan and MRI are both very helpful to see what has happened.
I have also been told that crohn's can cause it, bit far fetched maybe.
But then I never thought I never thought I would have a bleeding into the brain from a bump on the head---and two months later!
I do think a visit to a neurologist might be a good move for you.

PS Are you taking azathioprine---this can cause diziness and fainting.
