Do all abscess roads lead to Crohn's?

My 12 month old grandson had his first perianal abscess at 3 weeks old. He was taken to hospital and it was lanced and drained. Although it healed, it keeps coming back and has had another five since then and the latest time he was admitted, put under anaesthetic and a fistula was found and opened.
My question is, does this mean he will develop or has already got Crohn's disease? None of the medics have mentioned this, but wherever I read about perianal abscesses, Crohn's is always a feature in articles and forums.
He seems a happy healthy little boy although none of his poo nappies have ever been solid forms. Health visitors say his poos will become normal as he gets older, but I'm not convinced. Advice please, thanks.

I have had problems with them since I was 12 or so.. and I am 35 and was just diagnosed... I would take him to a GI dr to discuss it.

Welcome. I'm sorry to hear about your grandson

There are other causes of fistulae than Crohn's disease. However, they need to find out WHY he is getting them. Get him to a pediatric gastroenterologist and make sure they find the reason.

Thanks for your reply. Here in UK we don't get to choose which doctor to see. We are referred to a hospital and have to see who we are given. If we ask to be referred to a consultant specialist then we would go on a waiting list (could be many weeks, possibly months).
I think my son will have to ask for a Consultant referral for his little boy and hope they don't have to wait too long.
