Hello, im new to this forum, im adrianna and i am 20 years old. About 3 weeks ago i had pretty moderate stomach pain and made and appointment with my doctor, i was nervous my appendix may be on its way out (my sister had hers taken out 2 weeks before which made me WANT to go to the dr ASAP). My doctor sent me to the hospital for a CAT scan with contrast. i got the results back and they said my large intestine has some inflammation and it may be U.C. so i went to my family practices GI, i got bloodwork and my white blood cells were slightly elevated and she appointed me to have a colonoscopy, really the prep was worse then the procedure. But she came out and said there was an ulcer at the end of my large intestine with little inflammation but nothing alarming. she said she took a biopsy of the ulcer. She also told me i did not have U.c..
Last night the Biopsy came back and i got the call saying "it seems like you have chronic inflammation, which may be connected to IBD, Crohns disease" i have to get a blood test on monday at the hospital to test weather or not its chrones.

Let me also add the passed 2-3 months ive been taking more advil then i should due to a shoulder injury ive had for the passed year...maybe 6 or 7 tabs a week, which i have STOPPED taking them since my GI said this may also be the problem..

Ive read through so many symptoms but..im not sure if mine comply..so maybe some of you could shed some light on this and help me out, as i know nobody with crohns and never met anyone with it.

Everyday i have a bowel movement at the same time right in the morning, For a minute before the bowel movement i have a mild to moderate pain in my stomach. My bowels are soft, but are not diarrhea and does not contain blood.(proven from a stool sample and i cannot see any blood) Immediately after a bowel movement my pain is gone and i go on with my day. This is the only time i have pain in my stomach, it is not constantly all day.
Is this consistent to how any of you are feeling?
any advice is welcome, i am very nervous about the results and comfort of some friendly advice would be nice :]

thankyou

hello there! and welcome :)

So is the stomach pain that you were having the only symptom? have you been having any fatigue, weight loss, loss of appetite?

I can't quite tell you if you have Crohn's or not, just know that the blood test isn't 100% reliable in determining whether you have Crohn's or not.

I've had Crohn's for 13ish years and my blood test came back negative, and there is no doubt that i have it!

I would keep following up with your doctor and report any new or worsening symptoms to them.

Try not to worry too much. I know it is hard, but if it is Crohn's (and I really hope that it is not) it can be treated, and you can get through it!

yes the stomach pain right before a bowel movement is the only symptom..i do not have any fatigue or weight loss and my appetite is normal and this is the only symptom i have been having!

thankyou!

I can't remember only having one bowel movement a day. Or only having pain before going toilet, or not having diarrhea. Except for one week on a very low calorie diet, and when I had a temporary illeostpmy.
If you have a small abscess, then I guess it makes sence that you have the pain, when there's movement in that area of your bowel only.
I agree if your getting other symptoms, then tell your GI.
Best wishes :)

Consider that the pain may be from the inflammation in your bowel, as you pass a movement. I would try a bland diet for a while to rest your bowel, help it heal and see if that helps. A colonoscopy would be the way the doc would probably be able to tell you with certainty if you have Crohns. Before you move in the morning, perhaps put a hot water bottle on your belly or heating pad. That may help soften the muscles in your stomach and sooth it a little, or drink hot tea. This may help ease the movement. Worth trying! Feel better!

i had a colonoscopy she didnt see too much inflammation just near the ulcer, and said i did not have Ulcertive colitis, she said the last step is this bloodtest! i always use my heating pad and some camamile tea to help sooth it, it does not affect my life in the ways i am reading, i live a normal live, i run everyday and the only time i have pain is the minute before a B.M

It i s very very common to get small bowel ulcers on any nsaid (advil is one). Some studies cite 30% get small bowel ulcers with chronic inflammation. Make sure you tell your gi you have been taking it as it could very likely be the cause of the ulcer.

Hi there and welcome to the forum!

What specific blood test do they have you doing, do you know?

Please keep us updated as to what they find :)

Good luck!
