Wednesday May 23 is first national Crohn's and Colitis day! Spread the word to everyone and anyone :ylol: :thumright:

There's a Crohn's and Colitis day now?

:confused2:

I am not sure how I feel about that. I have to wonder what it accomplishes and what real purpose it serves.

Its there to get the word out. To help fund research, to let people know. I thinks its a great thing.

Where did u find the info at about the 23rd. I can't find anything about it. I think it's a good idea to get the word out. So many people don't have a clue of what Crohn's is...Sprays air freshener for Kev and Hat. Ya'll stinkin up the place. Hehe!

Hmmm, what if we did the salute, at nite, and had some disposable lighters.. I think it would attract more people (Oh, look at those lovely blue flames) and we wouldn't need the air fresheners...

OK, bad jokes aside.. Is this a US declaration, a UN declaration, or just a rumour?

National day leads me to assume it's just a US day of recognition so far... pity!!!

I did attend the M & M BBQ for Crohn's & Colitis.. God bless them for their efforts, I just wish they had a vegetarian option... I could volunteer, and I could watch the folks I talked into going enjoy their burgers, but I couldn't eat a bite myself. Geez, sometimes I am just so self centred.. Everyone I spoke to had a great time tho.. Only complaint I heard was that they didn't offer onions as a condiment... Sheesh!

Well it's about time!!!!!!

I think it serves a great purpose myself...I also think that the reason for our special day is likely because so many more people are being routinely DX with this god-awful disease...maybe now having this day will encourage a cure that much faster with the researchers out there...though I'm sure they're doing their best, but there's always room for improvement and hopefully this will give that extra push for more funding where it's needed and such.

As part of celebrating the day, toilet paper should be free in all the stores, now that would make a big impact wouldn't it.

:)
