Hi everyone,
I had my second small bowel resection in November 2016 (4 months ago), and have had chronic D ever since my Illiocecal Valve was removed. Within about 5 minutes from eating, everything shoots strait out of me and its really getting me down! I didn't realize that my IC valve would be removed this time, so I'm so worried that I'll have D for the rest of my life. I don't believe that I have short bowel syndrome, not too much bowel was cut out of me. I don't have any active crohn's or inflammation now either and I feel great other than the D.

I work from home now, thankfully, but I am looking for another job. How in the world should I be able to work outside of home with D all day long?! I've tried Immodium but it doesn't do much and I'm worried to take more than the recommended amount, plus it causes a lot of cramping. Too, I'm 30 years old, am I supposed to just load up on D meds everyday for the next 70 years?!

Sorry I'm venting a bit, this is awful. I'd rather have been dealing with the bowel obstructions than having D for the rest of my life.

If you have no current strictures you could also try increasing fibre in the diet, this should help absorb fluid and slow things down.
