I don't know what to do. I had my pharmacy fax a request for refills on thursday. My pharmacy mistakenly sent me a text saying it was ready. Well no, so I took my last pill and now have none. The timing couldn't be worse since I'm in worse pain than usual and I have a gig tomorrow 45 mins away. I don't know what to do. This is cruel. I am terrified.

oh heck no, Id be down at that pharmacy first thing when they open, they should at least let you buy a few till they get your refill squared away, as a courtesy since it was them who screwed up, do you still have the text>?

Yeah, when I told her, she just said that she didn't trust the automated system and that she was still waiting on the doctor authorization for the refills. But I have no money to buy any pills with, I was going to spend my last $5 on the rx. I am not okay with this. Actually I'm in tears because I don't know what to do.

idk,
I feel better with the old fashioned way, either the DR calls in the refills or now they can use their PC, but nothing beats getting the script.

Some Dr's are good like that, they let you stop by and pick up the script without charging for a visit.

that sucks , you mean they wont even let you call the office and ask them to call in a refill??

this system is all screwed up... I hope everything works out for you...
is there anything they can do in the AM for you?

I use a 24 hr pharmacy, ive been going there for years,

Yeah, first time I needed a refill, I called the office and they told me to call the pharmacy the rx is at. Seems odd, but whatever.

Well it turns out that it was the pharmacy's fault, not the doctor. He did send the authorization even before the weekend, but the pharmacy "never got it". Which seems suspicious to me, since I did get a text from them saying my rx was ready. Either way, I made it through the weekend, it was miserable, especially last night and I picked up my meds today. After yelling at the pharmacist, they paid for my rx, which is the least they could do, I thought. I was in pain all weekend for no reason, except for a fax machine error? That is not acceptable.

Im sorry to hear you had to suffer because of a fax machine but at least they owned up to it and paid for your script.

By the way, how did the gig go?

It went really well, thanks for asking. I wish I was able to skip it, but even in pain, I preformed pretty good and impressed a lot of people, which is always a plus.

If it happens again hun contact your Drs office, I know you said they don't do it generally but this was an exception and I would be expecting/demanding they help me.

Are you frequently on pain meds? Just during flares? All the time?

It sounds like you functioned without it. What does your doc think about the side effects of pain drugs, especially with regards to Crohn's?

My doc won't give me pain meds if I ask for them. He doesn't think they're good for Crohn's patients. After 28 years without them, I tend to agree except in rare instances (and for those instances, I've gotten them.)

Muppet, I am undiagnosed, so I am in constant pain. I'd rather be off pain meds, but I like to laugh and cough without being in crippling pain.
