hi. I actually have another username but am irrationally paranoid about my kid's doctors reading these posts. I doubt they have time but it still gives me pause.

do you think doctors ever read this?

Gosh, I wish they would! It would certainly give them an insight into what so many of our kids suffer with on a daily basis and how all-encompassing are our worries!! Even if I have 30 minutes with Stephen's GI, after the typical 'appointment' questions/follow-up and answering all of my questions relating to tests, results, symptoms, etc., we certainly don't have time to get into the day-to-day issues of living with Crohns.

But, in answer to your question... I don't know if any doctors come on this site. I'd certainly be curious to know as well...

Personally I don't think any of the doctors I deal with or have dealt with would read this forum. That's not to say no doctors do but I think most would either be too busy, too self absorbed, too conceited or too disinterested. After all, how do you tell someone something when they already know it all. :eek2: did I just they all that!

Dusty. :)

I told my GP about this Forum. He asked me some questions about how it was moderated and whether I thought that it gave sensible and balanced opinion and advice, then found it and bookmarked it so that he could tell his other IBD patients about it.

I know how you feel. I feel slightly paranoid about my doc or ibd nurses reading it- I don't know why I care or why I think they would be bothered.... But despite this I still don't like the idea of them knowing its me.
Possibly because we feel able to say more on here than we comfortable saying in real life?

There's A LOT of forums out there so I doubt they are combing for patient/family opinion. :). Our doc originally pointed us to the ccfa website and forum for support. So It's my belief/hope/prayer :) that most of them realize the value of parents having a place to compare and support each other.

Hugs,

J

So glad to read that I am not the only one who fears this!
I am always worried about cred with docs, and have an irrational fear of being taken for having Munchausen by proxy, especially after the neurologist visit :frown: (see my Second Guessing thread).
So I'm afraid if her doc sees my posts in here he'll think I am an attention seeker and take me less seriously.

imabovitall,
I am too always worried about what the doctors will think but you know I am learning that my kid is more important then their attitude and that I will do what is best for her. That is why I fired our first GI doctor. I also worried about whether my doctor was reading this site. I have to agree with the others though they are probably way to busy to bother with it.
