Does anyone take 6MP and a Immun Blocker?

Ok I went to my GI today begging him to please let me take a low does of Pred along with the Cimzia since the Cimzia seems to wear off. He flipped his biscuits said no Pred is bad for the bones. He suggested me Either take the 6MP with the Cimzia or maybe Surgery. Ok I cannot afford to take off for a long time for Surgery I have to work no choice there. So was wondering if anyone was taking 6MP and an Immune Blocker like Cimzia or Humira. Sorry for any typos or mispellings.

I am on methotrexate and cimzia at the moment but trying to come off methotrexate to try and start a family, otherwise I would stick with both. I am hoping once i have started my family I can add the methotrexate back in to have a bit more control. It has worked ok for me I have had ups and downs but I am more stable than not having anything. At one point I was on pred as well but luckily I have been off for a few months.
How do you feel about adding 6mp?

I don't know. The first thing out of my gastro's mouth was the possibilities of cancer. This makes no sense to me he doesn't want me to take a low dose of pred due to is side effects but hell give me something extra to increase my risk of cancer. Why not just take me out in the field and shoot me and put me out of my misery. Then he did also mention surgery well now that's always an option problem I cant afford to take off work right now my marriage is failing and I have to save my money and keep working I just wish I could find a gastro to listen to me.

I've been on Cimzia and 6MP together for a year now. I think the two work well together, but yes, my immune system is very limited and I do get all the little illnesses that go around. So far, it has been worth it, though I too think my Cimzia is starting to wear off early. Do you do both syringes at the same time? I'm trying to get my doc to let me do one half dose every two weeks, but she is resistant to his idea for some reason.

Yes I do both at the same time. I'm scared about taking the 6MP he offered it then made a huge deal about the possibilities of cancer risk. Which I don't understand lets see Pred ( Bone problems) 6MP possible cancer. Well that's a no brainer for me give me the prenisone but he wont. Another thing I worry about is working I work full time I already catch everything that comes a long. I have horrible sinus infections which he told me no more antibiotics (REALLY) how am I suppose to get better. I'm kind of on the fence with this one I want remission and a better quality of life but I'm scared. I'm still running low grade fevers which is something I do when flaring the on thing that stops them is the pred unfortunately. I really need more information on taking a biologic and 6mp together before I make a final decision. He said the only option for me would be surgery now keep in mind I have never been on any other meds except whats in my siggy. Ive never tried and other biologic s but he wants to jump straight to surgery.
