I was wondering if anyone here takes Gelatin to help relieve their symptoms. Does it work? The reason I ask is I remember my Aunt who has Celiac Sprue said that she takes it. She's in her 70s and has been on a strict gluten-free diet for years. I haven't yet been diagnosed with Celiac and didn't find a gluten-free diet stopped my flare ups, but she really believes that Gelatin helps.

So, does it? I know results may vary on individuals as even if some of us have the same issues, our bodies respond differently to various things.

Hi! I'm in remission gut-wise, so I don't know if gelatin helps with gut symptoms.

My worst problems at the moment are fatigue/brain-fog, and I've been trying to find ways to address them via diet. A few months ago I started using gelatin and collagen hydrolysate (I'm in the US and got the "great lakes" brand of both from amazon). I don't know if they "work", as my sleep-patterns have been really messed up lately, but at least my homemade "jello" (I use brewed peppermint tea as the base) is nutritionally a good snack option.

Have you tried homemade bone broth? http://www.crohnsforum.com/showthread.php?t=44473&highlight=bone+broth
When I first started making it (again, a few months ago) it tasted so good to me that I drank it by the mug-full. I had visions of making soups and such, but somehow there was never enough left! I try to have enough made so that I can have a mug or two full each day.

Sorry none of that is really an answer to your question!
