I have had sharp pain last night but bowels are fine, wondering if one who has sharp pain always has bad bowels. Maybe, it isn't a flare, not sure, but it was bad and still mildly painful.

never can be sure about those things hippie. i think thats one of the most frustrating things about this disease, we cant even have a tummy ache without wondering if something etrrible is happening.

i get those random pains as well, but if they ever continue i'll be going straight to my GI....

yeah its annoying because i am curious if im just responding poorly to some food, non-related to the disease. its 24 hours later and im still in pain, not as bad, but im thinking its a flare :(

Chances are pretty good that it's crohn's related if there are no other symptoms like fever, chills, vomiting, etc, that would indicate a viral infection or another common problem.

You may not be flaring though. For example my case is mostly that the prednisone has nearly put my crohn's in to remission but that I have a stricture that is there regardless of if I currently have inflammation. Mine hits me about 30 minutes after I eat a significantly sized meal which is apparently how long it takes for the food to reach the strictured part of my intestine.

But again, I just had a colonoscopy and my large intestine at least looks great right now. Practically no ulcers or anything. My ESR and CRP are both at reasonable levels too which says that active inflammation isn't a serious problem. My joint pain and facial rash are even gone. But, I'm still not well.

Yes I think it is related to the disease because it has persisted and i get aggravated when I eat, but its better now. meh crohn's suck.

I get pain not only when I eat the wrong thing, but if I eat too much sugar, don't get enough rest, do too much physical stuff, or get stressed out.

Stupid Crohn's!!!!

I would guess its strictures or narrowings in your small bowel as a result of past flareups. Maybe you had inflammation in the past which later healed, and then caused thick scarring. I had lots that was removed during surgery last October which was chronic Crohns I was told. I had narrowings that was slowing down the emptying of my stomach as I would be full for hours after eating. Now my stomach is emptying much faster. But I slightly digress... :)

the pain seems to hve gone away returns sometimes, mostly im just not hungry ever and always feel nausea when taking pills or sometimes when i want to eat.

This is basically my experience too. The pain doesn't seem to directly correspond with whether or not I'm eating, have just eaten, or haven't eaten for a long time. But my appetite is definitely low and I'm losing a lot of weight, and sometimes I can't even tell whether I'm hungry or nauseous until it's been so long that the hunger gets really bad.

I'm a bit confused because the pain can take several forms and I'm bad at identifying symptoms, so I can't help you much, sorry.

The weird thing is when I eat I see to be less nauseous (can't spell that word right ever, thank you spell check) so if I feel like puking, ironically eating something makes it better.
