So,

I've been a fan of a figher called Drew McFedries for a while, and I found out he also has Crohn's, I sent him an E-Mail and I got a reply!!!

thanks for taking the time to send me an email and following me. its never a good thing to hear people say they have any sort of desease. mine is also very serious but i have eluded surgery. i dont tell people what meds and procedures i have had because i dont want them to think it will work for them. i have gone threw allot of the fake programs from people that are just taking advantage of us due to our problem. i just feel that like me. i did as much research as i could and went with what i found to be the best route for me. especially because everyone has a different type of problem even though it labeled crohns. well thanks again. hope things go better in the future.

Hi Drew,

Just a quick E-Mail to say thanks for the inspiration. I also have Crohn’s I got diagnosed at 12, pretty crap really but I had an operation at 14 and it has allowed me to grow, I packed on about 70 pounds since my operation and I’m now 19. I’ve started in MMA, and also train GI BJJ. I’ve stopped atm, broken little toe from training!

What kind of treatment/meds/operation have you had with your Crohn’s?

Thanks,

Bobby

Wow that is amazing! I do not really follow MMA but I definitely have respect for the sport.

I am really curious as to what he actually does now to manage his disease as he must have had a lot of difficulty determining how to manage his training regiment with his health needs.

What a nice guy to reply like that! Sir Steven Redgrave (5 time Olympic rowing champion) has Chrohn's.

Wow Bobby isn't that fantastic! I didn't know that Steve Redgrave had crohn's. I know he has diabetes. What a guy - how inspirational. Talking of famous people with crohn's I didn't know that Anastacia had it until someone said, she does a lot to raise awareness of CD and was diagnoised at just 13 years of age.

Wow, he must be doing well to be competitive in such a demanding sport. I can respect his stance on sharing his medical particulars. He probably just doesn't want to unintentionally mislead anyone or give them false hope since everyone's situation is so different.
