I had surgery nearly 8 weeks ago now. Since then I have found I can't tolerate certain foods without setting off the old D!! Onions seem to be one culprit. I'm trying cutting a few other things out to see if it helps. Has anyone else found this has happened?

Yes! I had a stricture and I so much wanted to go back to eating fresh fruits and veggies. I am a little over 3 months out from surgery, and although I can eat alot more than I was able to eat right after surgery, some things seem to bother me alot more than they used to. Corn, beans, and caffeine really set me off. Nuts were always a problem, and still are. Overall, I'm having fairly frequent stools regardless of what I eat. My ileocecal valve was removed and I'm wondering if I need treatment for small intestine bacterial overgrowth or bile acid diarrhea.

Mine have changed.
I love raw veggies but they hate me! They often cause bloating, pain, and sometimes obstructions.
I also stay away from popcorn (same reason).

It's good to know this seems quite common. Fatty things don't seem to help me either, I guess it's just a case of working out what to avoid although like you sometimes it can happen regardless. It's so horrible not having control of your own body!

I agree. They cause me to spend a lot of time in the bathroom.
