Last Thursday i started getting stomach pains, and over a couple hours they turned into abdominal spasms. I ended up in hospital at abut 9pm with Spasms every 2 minutes very intense and painful. They got me into the ER and put me on an antispasmodic meds, delaudid and fluids.
They of course take x-rays and say that I am full of "poop" so after 6 hour and finally getting the spasms under control they send me home.
I slept for the better part of 2 days and have not been able to pass any stool. It has now been 4 days and I am getting worried. I feel bloated but I am not in pain, I pass mucous but no stool.
I have taken restoralax and another over the counter laxative but to no avail. Several over the past few days. Even tried an enema but it did not work. Has anybody had this issue?
I know delaudid (hydromorphone) can screw me up but it never has been for so long.

Antispasmodic are great
But they slow motility and for Ds it flat out stops his motility .
Can you call your Gi in the am ?

Hi, welcome to the forum. I agree with MLP, meds like that can slow things down or even stop things for days and days. For me even one Imodium seems to slow/stop things for 4-5 days. A combo of antispasmodic and pain meds would probably stop me up for a week at least. As long as you're not in pain and still able to pass gas, you're probably okay - gas coming out means you're not obstructed. Drink a lot of water, that should help. And if you're worried, call your doctor. Good luck and keep us posted on how you're doing!

I noticed, while on Bentyl, I was slow to go - even more than Kaopectate or Immodium caused. Since my symptoms are not GI-related after all, I discontinued the Bentyl and am now pretty regular. Bentyl also lowers stomach acid production according to the leaflet I got at the pharmacy.
