As part of my GI evaluation and investigations into Gallstones / Crohns it was noted on MRI that I have a cystic lesion on my pancreas 1.50cm. Tomorrow I am undergoing an EUS and fine needle biopsy.

Im wondering if anyone else in this forum has undergone this procedure. What were your experiences. On Monday I will also be having an MRE and am wondering if I will be recovered in time for this procedure.

Any advice is very much appreciated.

HI Tracey.

I have had the Endoscopic Ultrasound as they thought I was having Pancreatis. There is not much to it, It is the same as an Endoscopy only different is they put you under for a longer period of time instead of the short dose of twilight sleep that you get for the normal one as the procedure can take anywhere from 15mins to 45mins.
The only noticeable difference I had was that I was very very nauseas when I woke up, but was told it was because of the amount of drugs they used to sedate me. The nurse prior to the procedure did warn me as some are effected that way after the procedure. YUCK. Vomited all my way home.

Hope this helps.

I have undergone my EUS and am pleased to say that I don't remember a single thing about it. Once I had the throat spray and sedation I woke up in recovery. I didn't have a biopsy taken to evaluate the cystic lesion on my Pancreas as it is situated above the splenic vein, therefore too high risk. This will be repeated in 3 months following another MRI
