Er last night for DS.
Either celluitis or vasculitis in his rt foot.
They put him on abx just in case.:ybatty:
We see Ped Monday ( not sure how that will help since even er doc was not familiar with or had seen vasculitis before).:shifty-t:
I am going to email Rheumo / Gi later today and call
Monday.
On call Rheumo thought vasculitis and ds would need to be back on pred. He has only been off a week for the past three months.
I know our reg Rheumo will be on top of it but the strong abx increases his risk of c diff. It may also mess with his next Remicade infusion since you can't get it with an infection.:frown:

I so hate crohns right now.:yfrown:
The words I want to use are so not appropriate .
Back to your regularly scheduled Sunday.

:( :( :(.

I don't blame you for wanting to post colorful words. I thought them on your behalf!!!!

Please keep us posted.

J.

Oh no! Which abx did he get? I've wondered about the infection remicade mix. C has allergies and despite our best efforts ends up with sinusitis at least once a year. So sorry for your ds I'm thinkning colorful words for you too!

I said the bad words out loud! So sorry to hear this is happening. This disease STINKS!

We are still on pred around here. Been on it since June for the Crohn's related arthritis...

Ugh, hell mlp. :hug::hug::hug:

:hang: We won't leave you alone on the ride!

Thinking of you and sending loads of love, luck and well wishes you way.

Oh no! Sorry to hear about the trip to ER - why do these things always happen at a weekend! Hope it doesn't mess up the Remicade schedule. Hope he's all better soon.

Oh No! That poor boy (and you) can't catch a break. No colorful words...just colorful drinks!!!!

There may be hope for infusion. I have seen some pretty sick kids come in for infusion. Makes me made cuz they are hacking up lungs and what not around my daughter...so maybe there is hope.

Crossing our fingers and toes this all passes quickly and uneventfully.

Oh I am so sorry to hear about this! I hope he gets better fast with out any complications! We are thinking of you guys!

Definite cellulitis -
Wart oozing cloudy pus.
We have to call Rheumo by Weds.
He can't get Remicade unless the infection is completely gone.
We have to watch for secondary infections now.:(

OMG, I am so sorry... you and he really have had enough to deal with!!! :ymad: I hope it can be cleared up very quickly!

update- GI is ok to proceed with remicade next week.

Still need Rheumo approval.
He wanted an update today- I left a message but have not heard back yet.
Usually no news is good news.

Only scary part is the WART (*&*#####) is still there:ymad:
so once he is off abx - I need to figure out how to get rid of it quickly without risk of infections:shifty-t:

Mom test says infection is all gone-
HOw do I know - he could barely walk Sat.
Tonight I had to tell him to stop running bare foot in the house on it.:lol2:

Glad it looks like the infection is gone! :thumright: And good to hear he's running around, he must be feeling alright! :D

So glad to read that your little guy is doing better and can have his infusion...my daughter had cellulitis 3 different times when she was on Humira. I was worried sick about c-diff infection from antibiotics, but Infectious Disease specialist put her on doxycycline. I was told that doxy is less likely to cause c-diff. The drug of choice for my daughter was clindamycin, but apparently does put you at higher risk for acquiring c-diff. Good Luck...happy to know he is feeling better! Kim

That's good news! Glad he's feeling better and able to get his infusion next week :thumright:

Well yay to infection being gone!!!! Double yeah for Remicade not being postponed!!! As for the wart...is that something seperate or part of the other goings on. If it is just a regular old wart, as you know my girls are swimmers so we are at one with warts. One thing you could try is oil of wild oregano...it is a natural antibiotic and anti fungal..seems to be working on a few warts round here. There is also the ole duck tape method of sufficating them. But if it related to the other goings on then not sure about any of it. Aren't you glad I added my two cents?

Officially Rheumo signed off provided DS sees Ped to confirm all signs if infection are gone.
I am waiting until Monday to be safe. Last dose if abx is Tuesday .
His infusion isn't until Thursday so fingers crossed .
Saw Neuro
Tummy pain and headache pain can be taken care if with vitamins or neurotin .
We are in a. Holding pattern until we see what goes away once pred (swelling) , allergy pollen and third Remicade infusion come into play.
