Ok so iv had a lot of gas lately. I have twice before had a fart follow through, but I badly needed to go toilet. This time though, I thought I only needed to fart. Thankfully I was at home, but because iv had a lot of gas, this is a worry. Do any of you have this happen.....

I also have a lot of gas and fart before diagnosis and now even with little oral EN everyday. I think it's bacterial colony thing. Hope for more advice too!
It might be easer to ask who hasn't had this happen!
I don't often have diarrhoea, but when I do the first sign is usually a follow through. I now refrain from farting in public.

Spare pair of pants??? I always have diarrhea, but try to keep it in, when in public. But lately, I have a lot more gas. Used to only fart on the toilet, but it's like I can't now. And walking heaps...well let's just say, like most crohnies, Iv been avoiding outings at the moment. I'd be mortified if I needed to change due to a fart follow through, when out and about :/
Yes Irene- a spare pair of pants! Or you can experiment with sanitary pads placed to the back of your undies.
Luckily for you, being a woman, it's much easier to be discreet about these things. You can buy travel packs of baby wipes and keep a few cheap pairs of undies in the little inside pocket of your handbag, no one but you need know they're there.
And if the worst does come to the worst- at least women's toilets have bins in each cubicle. Think about the men who have to either put their undies back in their pockets (eww) or carry them out to dispose of them in front of other men!

Revecca, thank you...I'll put some undies and pants in the car just incase. I have so much gas lately, and yesterday when I wrote this, it happened a second time within an hour. At least it wasn't running down my leggs, like twice before. Sorry TMI, but the thought of that happening in public worries me. I can only hold a fart for so long, and if bloated already...then walking around...they just slip. But soooo much more so recently :/

The first time this happened to me I was in an accountants office. (I am an auditor so this is work related.) I had made an emergency bathroom run and on my way back to the office I was working in, it happened. I headed back to the bathroom and tried to clean up but it was all over my clothes.I ended up making an excuse to get out of the office, going to a store and buying new clothes and undies, changing in the store's mens room and returning to the accountants office to finish my work. It was so embarrassing. But I carry an extra set of clothes in my car at all times now.

Well, you can use the term "Shart" for this. For men, I have just simply folded up some TP and used it as a liner. Works well enough to buy a couple extra moments, it's discrete, and prevents you from having to go commando (bad idea for Crohn's Kiddies) as the result.
