I have had crohns 17 years and always lost a lot of weight during a flare but now on humira and been flaring for a month and not lost a single pound anyone else had this? X

Some people don't notice any significant weight loss yet since you're on Humira it may be helping with slowing down the weight loss process if you'll lose any at all. Hopefully you won't and that the Humira will get you out of this flare. How long have you been taking it?

Hi. Yes, I haven't lost much weight during my recent flare. Usually I lose a lot too. My clothes are all way too big though so don't know if i'm losing muscle as opposed to fat as the scales don't show it. Although I don't want to lose anymore weight I worry that sometimes my GI won't believe that i'm flaring if the scales don't reflect what I'm saying and feeling. Also notice that if I don't drink enough fluids I end up with swollen calves.
I hope the Humira kicks in and makes you feel much better soon.

I have been on humira a year prior to that infliximab. I had a baby 20 months ago and through not being allowed infliximab during it ended up with 2 abscesses and three fistulas resulting in an emergency c section. I was then put on humira six months after birth. I had lost my baby weight but find every time I inject I put on five pounds and then loose the next week. I'm at an overweight weight now and tried dieting which causes flares but this is first time flared like this on humira and I have not Lost a single pound just don't understand why my weight seems to be so controlled by the drug? X

I lost weight in the beginning but it has kind of tapered off to a stable but low weight. Still in a flare though. Not any real advice but good luck

It seems to all depend. I lose weight pretty quickly at the beginning of a flare, but as the flare continues I usually even out. It is always hard to show people how sick I am when I stop losing the weight. My problem is no matter how much I eat, I never seem to gain weight. I am usually pretty good when it comes to eating when in a flare, so that maybe part of it. I don't think weight loss or gain is not the best indication of a flare. Pay attention to your other symptoms you know you best.

I usually lose a lot of weight during a flare up but there was a time I felt fine and my weight was normal but apparently my guts didn't match my symptoms and I was rushed to surgery. There is no one way when it comes to this disease. We need to watch it carefully.

I don't lose weight in fact i can't stop putting it on and find it hard to lose any dieting. Ive had 3 fistulaa for around 3 years now. I flare a lot and it wears me out. :-( ... crohns sucks.x
