Last July (so basically over 6 months ago) I got surgery for an anal fistula. They put in a seton and now I'm recovered and do not have any issue with infection. However, whenever I do squats or any type of butt workout for that matter, the area around the setons starts to bleed the next day and causes me to be in a bit more pain. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem or had any advice to give me. Thanks so much!

I sometimes use gauze around the seton literally placing it on one side and folding it over the seton knot. For me the knot seems to be kind of hard and pokey and makes the skin angry. Maybe you could try that?

Unfortunately I have found I pretty much can't exercise with active fistulas/setons. walking is okay if they are draining and hurting less, but every time I try to do any sort of weight bearing exercise or Pilates or anything I suffer for it. I've just resolved that until these things heal you have to be super gentle with your body :(
