I was just diagnosed w crohns 2 weeks ago. It has been a struggle but the meds Lialda are helping. anyone else on this? The dr was talking about a resection but now wants to wait. Switching drs anyway. I have extremely cracked palms and between my fingers. Anyone else get this?

I just did a quick search of the drug and it's side effects and found that it can cause "Skin and Subcutaneous Tissue Disorders: acne, prurigo, rash, urticaria". I'm guessing this could be related? I'm not sure though. Have you tried to use vasaline or any other lotions?

I'm afraid that I'm not taking the same meds as you. But, my hands have always been that dry. Lately I found out that I have hand eczema. Did a little research and looks like it's common with those of us with crohn's and colitis. My doctor had me using hydrocortisone cream 1% and that works. But, the thing that has helped me the best is aveeno for eczema. I don't always use the stuff as much as I should, but my hands now are still much better than they have been in years. Take care. Lisa
It's great to know that your hands are getting better. I've also had eczema before and like your's, steroids did the trick.
