So, both of my maternal grandparents, aunt, and myself have dx of Crohn's. Now, my mom is thinking she has Crohn's. She's heading to the doctor as I type this. My great-aunt also had colon cancer. I just find it interesting of how many of my family members have this "wonderful" disease.

What I find interesting is that nobody at all in my family has anything related to a gut disease. No cancer no IBD nothing at all...

Grandma (Dads side) - IBS
Grandad (Dads side) - Kidney failure
Dad - Suffered IBS for three or four years of high stress, nothing since
Mum - Diverticulitis
Me - Crohns, supposedly

Oh to have Jewish genes

That is interesting. I have not been dx yet, I am going through tests. But my mom had Meinetriers disease and mucus colitis(IBS they now call it). Meinetriers disease is very rare too( it is a stomach ailment where the folds in the stomach become very enlarged). It would cause her to get really sick and vomit and have pain. So gut issues do run in my family.

Also, my Grandfather(moms dad) was Jewish. I have heard that a certain race of Jewish people are more prone to getting crohns. I think they are from the ashkinazi descent or something. At least that is what I was told..
