Fasting before liver scan

I've just had a call from the hospital to go in for a liver scan tomorrow.

They have told me to fast for 6 hours beforehand (not an issue as I can't eat very much anyway!).

Is this normal to have to fast before a liver scan? All I know is my LFTs are elevated, had gallbladder out 6 years ago.

I don't know what type of scan you're having but it's normal to fast for a liver MRI. I can't remember it I fasted for liver US's but I don't think I did. I hope that the scan is helpful.
