I know this is in another thread somewhere, but I'm putting it in here anyway :)

Who's your favourite band? I'm currently grooving on Lady Gaga, but my favourite all time band is Duran Duran (brings back lovely memories from high school...sigh).

the Top 5 at the moment (in no particular order) :

-Dinosaur Jr.
-Queens of the Stone Age
-R.E.M.
-The Black Keys
-Primus

Rush
Matt Maher
Powderfinger
Idlewild

In no particular order, I can't narrow it down much more than that.

i never really liked Duran Duran (Ding goes & hides behind the sofa)

my oldie fave artists will always be.. Cat Stevens, Bob Dylan, GNR, Rod Stewart, Stevie Wonder - these are the guys i grew up listening to and their music just works like magic on me when i need it..

more recently - i'm a massive Bryan Adams fan - have seen him live a few times, also love Pink, Alesha Keys, Coldplay, REM & many others.

OK, if anyone else says Duran Duran, I'm finding a new forum:). Just kiddin' Dusty so don't get any ideas :ylol:.

Rush
Jethro Tull
Allman Bros
CCR

I'm with you Mark!
Duran Duran! Puurrrleeese!

I love all the old stuff, The Clash, Bunnymen, Magazine, The Smiths, Joy Division
and new stuff Muse, Coldplay, Artic Monkeys, Editors, Foos, Elbow, anything Indie!
got tickets for Muse in September! Yay!

here's my Mark's new song, it's a bit tinny!

This is the reason I don't yet have a tatoo, because over time your favorite "thing" changes and even with my mood. Ok I'll shut up already and pick a band. ~Aerosmith~ :headbang:

I like that Joan!! I guess I go to get outta my comfort zone though cause Coldplay is the only one of those others I've ever even heard of!!!

The Arctic Monkeys are pretty good. I'm not a big Coldplay fan, mostly because I went to a The Music/Coldplay concert and the Coldplay fans just swayed the whole time.

That totally reminds me of the 'Homerpalooza' episode of The Simpsons when the Smashing Pumpkins perform.

3OH!3
The Eagles
James Taylor
Jack Johnson
Daughtry

Just to name a few! I listen to a wide variety of music and those are really just the five that I listen to the most.

Way too many to list.....everything from the soundtrack from "A Star is Born" with Barbara Streisand, the Beatles, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Alan Jackson, Loreta Lyn, Jeanne C Riley, the Guess Who, the NewsBoys, Nicole C Mullins, and the list goes on and on and on........

favorite bands

Beatles early Eels, Cream, Dylan, Elvis Costello, Jefferson Airplane, Velvet Underground, Led Zeppelin, Stones up thru goats head soup, Drifters, but i'm an old guy.....

The Alan Parsons Project, The Doobie Brothers, Procol Harum, Uriah Heep, Yes, Pink Floyd (of course), Camel, Billy Squier, Bachman Turner Overdrive, The Moody Blues, and last but not least Johnny Horton.

It's funny that I'm 24 and have the music tastes of a 40-50 year old man.

I've been listening to The Naked and Famous from New Zealand a lot lately. So, favorite band of the last month or so...

Joan, I realise you're taken. But I think I want to marry you.

With that said. Tom Waits, Nick Cave, Joy Division, The Clash and any band Johnny Marr plays in.

I'm more a fan of the oonce oonce/dj stuff and disposable tracks vs albums, but there'll always be a soft spot for classics: Floyd, Beatles, Dead Kennedys, The Dead, Orb, Kate Bush...

Guess a better sense of where I'm at is if I think about the best live shows I saw in 2010?

1) Mumford and Sons (vancouver) <-- *fantastic live*
2) The Prodigy (dublin)
3) Dizzee Rascal (dublin)
4) Steel Panther (vancouver and england) <-- satire a la hair metal
5) Florence and the Machine (dublin)
6) U2 (Seville)
7) La Roux (dublin)
8) AC/DC (england)
9) Ministry with Jello Biafra (vancouver)
10) Pendulum (Belgrade)
