Doc appointment Monday he decides to try rowasa enemas. They don't call them in til the next day (while insisting its the pharmacy fault), pick them up, find warning that they contain metabisulfite and can cause allergic reactions of sensitive to sulfites especially among asthmatics. I am both. Call the office and explain this to receptionist. Nurse calls back. Insists I am fine because asacol is also sulfa drug. I explain that sulfA isn't the issue, its the sulfites that I get anaphylaxis from. She continues this for several minutes, finally snips at me that she will ask the docs but I should call my pharmacist and they will tell me it is the same. I DID call said pharmacist who confirmed that no they are not, and no asacol does NOT have the sulfites.

Today she tries telling me again that she's right and I'm wrong. When I finally told her point blank that I had checked and no she is not and that if I did react to them it could literally KILL ME, she snips back that fine I dont have to take them if I dont want to they will call in entocort.

Now I'm to be referred to an 'IBD specialist' apparently which I guess is good but feels a bit like 'eh she asks questions and such, dump her elsewhere if shes that complicated '
