I had my colonoscopy done it will be two weeks ago this Friday. Well about a week after the test I noticed I had some vaginal discharge that had a slight odor. Well I called my doctor and she prescribed to me a vaginal gel ( metrogel). She said I likely had bacterial Vaginosis. I used this cream for 5 days and finished my last day this past Sunday night. I am still having issues though! I still have a discharge( may be still that gel coming up of trying to clear out of me, I am not sure). I also feel some burny sensation in the vagina too. I called the gyne office and the nurse said to just watch it for a couple days and to use this over the counter stuff called Rephresh ( you put it in the vagina, it is suppose to balance out the PH or something.) She said if I start getting itching then I would have to take a vaginal yeast cream( I cannot take diflucan due to side effects).
Has anyone else here had an issue like this after having a colonoscopy? I mean I have not really ever had Bacterial vaginosis and have not had a yeast infection is years. I have been on low dose antibitoics so that may have helped contribute to this BV infection, though I honestly think It had something to do with the whole colonoscopy( all the diarrhea maybe)?? I mean I have been on the low dose antibitoics for a few years now already and never had this issue. Anyone else use that metrogel and how did you react to it? Did it clear up the infection and did you have a lot of discharge afterwards??
