I had my first infusion of Feraheme today. I became allergic to Venofer last year after the 3rd dose, so my doctor loaded me up with pre-meds this time: benadryl, tylenol, solu-medrol.

The only reaction I had was spiking a mild fever (99.7) afterwards, but other than that I'm good. My next infusion is in a month, then one more after that depending on labs. I know this isn't a common iron infusion but glad it's out there to try; I'm my doctor's second Crohn's patient to try it.. hope it works!

I hope it works, I know how much iron deficiency impacts one's life... it can even get so worse that one can black out just walking to work due to severe anaemia... Happened to me. Iron infusions make a ton of difference.
