ferrous wheel

Sorry my cheesy post title, I couldn't resist. I have been taking 325mg 3x a day of ferrous gluconate for my anemia, it hasn't done anything. I am not absorbing likely due to the fact that I am inflamed in the ileum. Anyways, I accidently bought ferrous sulfate today instead, maybe I'll try this one it's worth a shot?

Anyone find a difference between the different types of irons that work in treating iron deficiency?

I found that I get gastritis if I take it. My iron levels go up only when my inflammation markers drop...

Well I gotta take something I am just so weak, this is day 2 of taking ferrous sulfate and I know it sounds insane since it takes weeks to work, but I feel more energetic. I won't complain :)

Hi
I just wanted to let you know that iron absorbs better in the presence of Vitamin C. If you chew a Vit. C tablet with it maybe it will help. Also B 12 is absorbed in the terminal ileum as well. B 12 also helps with the formation of red blood cells. You can be anemic because of low iron and low B12. I hope that helps?? Iron has never really given me trouble as far as irritation. I've noticed some brands say they are easier on the stomach, you might want to search the differences on line??
