I was reading this CD book which said Metamucil is perfect for people with CD. The fiber matrix in fruits and veggies if not peeled or cooked can irritate us but apparently this guy claims metamucil will never hurt us.

My only resistance is one, what if he is wrong, I don't want anymore inflammation. Two, I want something that will make me go less, and traditionally fiber is good for constipated people not those with the big d.

I'm not entirely sure about this, but I think fiber can work two ways. If you need to go, it can help you to go. But if you have extra liquid in there that is going to make you go too much, then the fiber can soak up that liquid and help you not go as much.
My doc gave me a sample of metamucil wafers to eat to help bind me up a little so I wouldn't go so urgently. All they did was give me a belly ache, and I usually don't get pain.
You'll never know if it works if you don't try it, I guess.
Good luck.

mybutt you are right, i am gonna give it a shot after the semester, i dont need any more problems in the next 2 weeks.

well im stubborn didnt ask the GI but began my daily dose regimen of metamucil today. i swear i felt like running to the bathroom when i took it but so far im good.

Mt GI recommends this metamucil every time I go in there with pain and cramping. My problem is pain and cramping most of the time with very little D, mostly just the pain. I never take it though because it is psyllium fiber and I have had problems with psyllium before.
GI doesn't listen of course...
