So I just got home this afternoon from a nine day stint in the hospital because of a RIDICULOUS flare. The doctors managed to get it under control, and they now have me starting on Remicade after being unsuccessful with Mezavant and Prednisone, which they are tapering me off of now. (Can't wait to be off this stuff!) I'm feeling pretty weak, especially since they had me on a very high dose of intravenous cortisone and fed me nothing but broth and jell-o for seven days, but I'm excited to get back on track... Things are looking up.

I kind of feel like I'm rambling... I guess what I'm trying to say here is: What can I expect with Remicade? I've had my first infusion and it seemed to do wonders, and I'm feeling much better... But what are the long term effects? Does anyone have any success stories I can cling to while I process all of this? It all seems to be happening very quickly and I'm going back and fourth about how I'm dealing with all of this emotionally, and I get kind of scared sometimes.

Thanks guys. :)
